Managing Attack Surfaces During Budget and Talent Restraints with Rob Gurzeev, CEO & Co-Founder, CyCognito and Troy Wilkinson, CISO, Interpublic Group
Attack surfaces continue to grow with increased complexity during a time when there are more budget and talent constraints. In this session, we will engage in an open dialogue that will share models to enhance risk management opportunities: approaches to prioritize efforts and better measure our current state and desired future state, and how to quantify the impact of our risk by knowing what we are doing well or not doing well.

Discussion Points
–  Discuss typical practitioner priorities across key domains: endpoint protection, vulnerability management, cloud security, and compliance.
–  A conversation on your priorities: how one comes up with them and justifies these decisions with management.
–  Discuss the principle of Path of Least Resistance. What it means for risk leaders to increase their findings in order to better protect their weak spots.
–  Share productive and effective approaches that can help quantify knowledge gained in order to make solid and measured risk-based decisions.

The Future of Work with Mike Sullivan, Chief Revenue Officer, Talon
Today’s emerging technologies and geopolitical trends are shaping how we work, and security priorities must be shifted to create a secure and efficient workplace during a time of rapid change. This discussion will explore:

–  Benefits and drawbacks of using personal devices versus corporate shipped laptops.
–  The impact of supply chain on security and lost efficiencies.
–  The need for cost-saving models during times of market uncertainties that call for reduced budgets and some form of ROI.

A growing security risk to organizations is the health and well-being of the CISOs. Numerous studies in 2023 have identified the average CISO tenure of being only 18-24 months. Another study found the health of 60% of CISOs is being affected by stress and 53% suffer from job burnout.

Organizational behaviour and psychometric leadership assessments are routinely used in executive talent management and can be tuned to the unique challenges faced by CISOs. A facilitated discussion based on deep personal experience will explore strategies and best practices for CISOs to develop strong personal resiliency in the face of the mounting challenges facing the professionals who serve in these important roles.

Horse Whispering: “Enhancing Leadership & Communication Skills While Building Trust” with Grant Golliher, Resident Cowboy & Owner, Diamond Cross Ranch

Horse Whispering is a method of communication based on techniques derived from observation of free-roaming horses, and rejecting abusive training methods. During a typical one-hour demonstration, Grant works with a troubled horse in front of the audience, explaining the principles he is using to build confidence in the horse.

Grant’s work with the horse provides a framework to help individuals better understand their own challenges. Horse whispering teaches leadership skills, communication, and trust.  It reveals truths about the natural world that can be applied to business, self-improvement and relationships. By applying the lessons we teach, you can dramatically change yourself and those around you for the better.
