Marios Damianides
Chief IT Risk Officer

Passion… It’s the “why” behind everything I do. I’m deeply driven to empower businesses, teams and people to thrive today while positioning them for long-term success by seizing the upside of emerging risks.

In a career spanning over 30 years of working with Fortune 500 clients around the globe, leading Cybersecurity and Risk businesses and serving on Boards, what gets me up every morning is anticipating and adapting to the ever-changing and increasing existential threats to businesses. With a leadership approach rooted in optimism and innovation, I have led the design and implementation of world class cyber and risk programs for my clients, while establishing an exceptional track record of exponentially growing cybersecurity and risk businesses during significant economic downturns.

During my most recent tenure with EY as the Cybersecurity Leader for the US East Region and senior partner, I managed some of the firm’s most challenging and complex deals and delivered security, business and large-scale IT transformation programs globally. Known for my highly strategic and forward-looking mindset, I’ve served as a trusted advisor to Fortune 500 Boards and Audit Committees on security related matters while acting as a conduit between technology and business executives. I’ve also presented to Executive Management, Boards and Audit Committees innovative ideas and techniques, such as a leading-edge analysis and quantification of cyber risk using emerging quantitative models I pioneered and delivered.

I strongly believe in leading from behind. I love collaborating with high-performing teams to shape visionary solutions that embed cybersecurity, agility and resilience at every level within an organization as well as implementing security architectures that broaden protection and facilitate business improvement programs.

Beyond the business world, I’m deeply committed to impacting society at large. I currently serve on the Board of several not-for-profits in the US and globally. It is an honor to be a Board member of the Lighthouse Guild ( and serve on its Executive Committee and lead the Audit and Compliance Committee. I am also a founding member of the One in Tech Foundation, an ISACA organization (, having served as Chairman of the Board and held many other roles of the global ISACA. I have also served on the Alumni Committee in the US for the University of Kwazulu Natal.
