SINET Events

It's all about relationships...

We at SINET fervently believe that innovation is accelerated when the security community — comprising researchers, builders, buyers and investors — collaborate on addressing global Cybersecurity threats. Purposely intimate, always stimulating and first-class in every respect, SINET events are based on trust, and provide a unique opportunity for members of the security community to make valuable connections while gaining new perspectives on the critical security issues and challenges of the day.

The US Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate supports each SINET event, along with the generous support of our sponsors and members:

IT Security Entrepreneurs Forum

8-9 April 2014
Computer History Museum, Silicon Valley

“Bridging the Gap Between Silicon Valley and the Beltway”

IT Security Entrepreneurs Forum (ITSEF) is SINET’s flagship event, designed to bridge the gap between the Federal Government, Silicon Valley and other global centers of innovation. ITSEF provides a unique venue where entrepreneurs can interact directly with top government agency and industry officials in a collegial setting, increasing awareness of their needs as well as the innovative technologies available to address Cybersecurity challenges. This information exchange can lead to trust-based relationships and the creation of “win–win–win” material deliverables. ITSEF advances innovation through collaboration models by connecting researchers, builders, buyers and investors.

Innovation Summit

17 July 2014
The Times Center, New York, NY

“Connecting Wall Street, Silicon Valley and the Beltway”

Innovation Summit connects America’s three most powerful epicenters and evangelizes the importance of industry, government and academic collaboration on joint research initiatives. The opportunity to bring practitioners and theory together to discuss fundamental Cybersecurity challenges is critical to the advancement of innovation in the Cybersecurity domain. This summit is designed to reinvigorate public-private partnership efforts and increase relationships that foster the sharing of information and joint collaboration on Cybersecurity research projects.

Global Summit

September 2014
The British Museum, London, England

“Advancing Global Collaboration and Innovation”

Global Summit focuses on building international public-private partnerships that will improve the protection of our respective homeland's critical infrastructures, national security and economic interests. The Global Summit’s objective is to build and maintain international communities of interest and trust that foster vital information sharing, broad awareness and the application of our nation's most innovative technologies to enable a safer and more secure homeland for the United States, United Kingdom and our trusted allies. The US Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate supports this event along with Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) as the UK representative.

Showcase

3-4 December 2014
The National Press Club, Washington, D.C.

“Highlighting and Advancing Innovation”

Showcase provides a platform to identify and highlight “best-of-class” security companies that are addressing industry and government’s most pressing needs and requirements. The chosen SINET 16 Innovators present their technological solutions to representatives from the ecosystem of the entrepreneur: venture capital, investment banking, system integration, academia, science, legal, policy, private industry and executives from the Federal Government, including civilian, intelligence and military professionals. Showcase’s objective is to increase awareness of innovative solutions that may lead to an investment in, or the purchase of, advanced technologies that will help secure our nation’s critical infrastructure and command-and-control systems.

SINET Workshops

SINET Workshops deliver critical knowledge, targeted perspective and opportunities for direct information sharing between entrepreneurs and security experts. Held in conjunction with IT Security Entrepreneurs Forum and Showcase, each workshop offers expert insight from industry and government officials, venture capitalists, leading researchers and successful entrepreneurs who share thought leadership, experience and “know how.” There is no comparable opportunity to learn how to navigate the Federal Government sector, and to obtain the necessary financing, professional services and guidance needed to win.
