SINET Fifth Annual IT Security Entrepreneurs' Forum (ITSEF) Highlights Panel Presentations and Workshops Addressing Pressing Cyber Security Needs

Connecting IT security entrepreneurs with government and private industry to advance cyber security innovation

San Francisco, Calif. – March 11, 2011 - The Security Innovation Network™ (SINET), an organization focused on advancing cyber security innovation through public-private collaboration, highlighted today key panels and workshops for its fifth annual IT Security Entrepreneurs’ Forum (ITSEF) at Stanford University on March 15-16, 2011.

Panels to be featured in the Wednesday March 16th ITSEF main event include:

How Emerging Cyber Threats, Risks and Vulnerabilities are Influencing Industry and Government Needs & Requirements: This panel will predict where the dynamically changing cyber security threat landscape is headed and how early stage and emerging growth companies can help the industry and government with their most challenging problems. Speakers represent Stanford University, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, DISA, the NSA and Cisco Systems.

Security, Privacy and Risk Considerations in a Social Networked World: This panel will explore the role of social media in the paradoxical relationship between security and privacy and will ask the fundamental question "how do we protect ourselves from ourselves?" Speakers represent Symantec, McAfee, the U.S. European Command and U.S. Department of State.

ITSEF begins on March 15th with the SINET Workshops designed to give entrepreneurs a competitive advantage by partnering with federal government. Workshop topics address such important issues as:
