Tim Sharp was hired by the Department of Homeland Security in March 2004 to be the Department of Homeland Security’s first Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program manager and was named in 2005 as the Director of the Advanced Technology Office within the Science & Technology Directorate. Tim came to DHS after working for over 30 years for the United States Air Force in a civilian capacity as an acquisition logistician and program manager. In his last assignment at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in the Air Force Research Laboratory, he managed a number of programs with funding of over $325M, including the Air Force’s SBIR Program. Tim is a graduate of The Ohio State University, the Air Force Institute of Technology, the Air War College, and the Defense Systems Management College. He is a fully certified acquisition professional and a Certified Professional Logistician.
