Pete Bonanni is a co-founder and CEO of Total Immersion Software. Total Immersion is a software developer building the Real World Platform for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Real World is a simulation platform that uses powerful tools to allow both soldiers and first-responders to rapidly create mission rehearsal scenarios. Pete has long been an advocate of using game technology and techniques for a wide range of serious game applications. His experience as one of the key designers of the highly acclaimed Falcon game serious helped shape his views of low cost simulation.
Pete is also a fighter pilot and a member of the Virginia Air National Guard where he holds the rank of Brigadier General. He has flown numerous combat missions over Iraq and Bosnia and was the Wing Commander during its successful deployment in support of Iraqi Freedom. Pete was also in command when the Wing Medical Group deployed to the Gulf region in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. As part of Air Force transformation, Pete has authored and executed the Wing's recent conversion plans from the F-16 to the F-22 Raptor. In support of this move Pete led the lobbying effort on Capital Hill that shaped this ground breaking collaboration between the active Air Force and the Air National Guard. |
