John Voeller is a member of the corporate management team at Black & Veatch and has responsibility for visioning strategic technology directions. In 2002, John and his team identified the key capability needed for creating a common risk profiling system across all infrastructure. This work led to a one-year ASME Fellowship in the Office of Science and Technology Policy for the Executive Office of the President. His role at the White House office encompassed several unique activities across all federal database and collection systems. .

At Black & Veatch, John focused on creation of a completely new knowledge management approach known as “decision-centric” , designed to enable the fifth generation of engineering and construction advancement for the firm. John is the principal architect of POWRTRAK, the automated engineering system of Black & Veatch that was used to build over 500 power facilities around the world. He has been directly involved in design and construction of gas turbine, fossil, nuclear and hydroelectric power plants. He has designed systems and processes to support design and construction of water and wastewater treatment, chemical and petrochemical plants, pipelines and civil works of many kinds in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
