Andrew Nielsen Information Security Manager, Information Technology SVB Financial Group

Andrew Nielsen serves as SVB Financial Group's IT Security Manager, responsible for aligning the company's information security efforts with its business strategy. Andrew is further responsible for working with SVBFG’s internal business units, portfolio companies, and venture partners evaluating emerging technology, specializing in security. Prior to joining SVBFG, Andrew was at Raytheon and QSS Group from 1999–2004, supporting government contracts at NASA Ames Research Center. While supporting NASA, Nielsen specialized in PKI, identity management, and infrastructure technologies and participated in a variety of agency-wide initiatives. Andrew received a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts from San Jose State University and currently holds the CISSP and ISSAP certifications. Additionally, he is a frequent contributor to the SNIA Security Technical Working Group on issues regarding storage security and data protection.
