John Carlson is Senior Vice President of BITS/Financial Services Roundtable where he manages relationships with regulatory agencies and engages experts from financial institutions on information security, operational risk, vendor management, fraud risk, and business continuity planning. Carlson also chairs the Research and Development Committee of the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council for Critical Infrastructure Protection and Homeland Security which identifies top R&D priorities for the banking and finance sector and serves as technical advisors to the academic community. Prior to joining BITS, Carlson served in a variety of leadership and technical roles at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, U.S. Office of Management and Budget, and Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. John holds a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and a B.A. from the University of Maryland. BITS is the technology and operations division of the Financial Services Roundtable which represents 100 of the largest US financial services companies.
