Faye was appointed as a DHS Headquarters Small Business Specialist in August 2006. Prior to this appointment, Faye held several positions with the U.S. Coast Guard including, Contracting Officer for a major systems acquisition project and the Coast Guard’s A-76 Program. In her current position, Faye provides small business support to the several acquisition divisions which includes Departmental Operations, Office of Health Affairs, National Protection and Programs (includes U.S. Visit and the Federal Protection Service), and Intelligence and Operations.
She served as a Subject Matter Expert to assist the Federal Acquisition Institute in developing a web-based training module specifically designed for Program/Project managers on the importance of including small businesses in the procurement process. The training module is currently available on the Defense Acquisition University’s web-site under Course FAC-032, titled Small Business: A Requirements Approach. Faye also served on the American Council for Technology/Industry Advisory Council’s 2009 & 2010 Small Business Conference Planning Committee. She served as a Workshop Lead.
Faye was awarded the DHS Small Business Leadership Award for 2008. She has a Level III Acquisition Certification in Contracting and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA.
