Andrew Nielsen

Andrew Nielsen serves as Hitachi Data Systems' Product Security Architect. His primary responsibility is to work with customers and engineering teams to develop product security requirements and incorporate them into the HDS' product offerings.
Prior to joining HDS, Andrew was SVB Financial Group's IT Security Manager, responsible for aligning the company's information security efforts with its business strategy. Andrew was further responsible for working with SVBFG’s internal business units, portfolio companies, and venture partners evaluating emerging technology, specializing in security. Prior to SVBFG, Andrew worked on a variety of government contracts in support of NASA. While supporting NASA, he specialized in PKI, identity management, and infrastructure technologies and participated in a variety of agency-wide security initiatives.
Andrew received a BA in Creative Arts from San Jose State University and currently holds the CISSP, CISA, ISSAP, and ISSMP certifications. Additionally, he is a frequent contributor to the SNIA Security Technical Working Group on issues regarding storage security and data protection.
